Papertide - Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what Papertide (the “App”) collects, why, and who it is shared with. It matches the App Privacy labels shown on the App’s App Store product page.
1. What you write and the pictures you make stay on your device
Your journal text, the mood you pick, the artwork the App generates, and your settings are written only to storage on your own device. They are never uploaded, never sent to us, and never shared with the advertising or analytics partners listed below. They are not part of any of the data categories in sections 2 and 3.
- Open any saved piece and use Delete to remove that entry and its image files.
- Uninstalling the App removes everything it stored locally.
- Save to Photos and Share only act on the one image you pick, at the moment you tap them.
2. Data collected and used to track you
The App shows advertising and measures how it performs. For that purpose the third-party SDKs in section 4 collect the categories below, link them to you, and use them to track you — meaning the data may be linked with data from other apps and websites, owned by other companies, for advertising or advertising measurement.
- Device ID — advertising identifiers and similar device identifiers. Used for third-party advertising, our own advertising, analytics, and app functionality.
- Advertising Data — which ads were shown, viewed, or interacted with. Used for third-party advertising, our own advertising, and analytics.
- Coarse Location — approximate, city-or-region level location derived by the ad SDKs. The App never asks for precise location. Used for third-party advertising, our own advertising, analytics, and app functionality.
- Product Interaction — app launches, screens opened, taps on ads. Used for third-party advertising, our own advertising, analytics, and app functionality.
- Performance Data — launch time, responsiveness, ad load timings. Used for third-party advertising, our own advertising, analytics, and app functionality.
- User ID — identifiers the SDKs assign to an install so an ad or an install can be attributed. Used for third-party advertising, analytics, and app functionality.
- Other Data — other technical values the ad SDKs send with an ad request, such as device model, OS version, language, and network type. Used for third-party advertising, our own advertising, analytics, and app functionality.
3. Data collected but not used to track you
- Crash Data — crash logs and error reports, linked to you. Used for analytics, app functionality, and third-party advertising.
- Other Diagnostic Data — other technical diagnostics, not linked to you.
- Other Usage Data — other usage signals, not linked to you.
4. Third-party services
The App integrates the following SDKs. They collect the data in sections 2 and 3 and process it under their own privacy policies:
- AppLovin MAX — advertising mediation. MAX passes ad requests on to the advertising networks it mediates, and those networks receive the data above as part of the request. See https://www.applovin.com/privacy/.
- Adjust — install and advertising attribution and analytics. See https://www.adjust.com/terms/privacy-policy/.
We do not sell your data. We do not combine the advertising data above with your journal text or your artwork, which never leave your device.
5. Tracking permission (ATT)
On first launch iOS asks whether the App may track you across apps and websites owned by other companies.
- Allow — the SDKs may use the advertising identifier, and the ads you see are more relevant.
- Ask App Not to Track — the advertising identifier is not used. The App keeps working exactly the same way, and you still see ads; they are just less relevant.
You can change this at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking, and turn off the prompt for all apps in the same place.
6. Children
The App is a general-audience journaling tool. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. Because the App shows third-party advertising, we ask that it be used by people old enough for the App Store age rating shown on its product page.
7. Your choices
- Decline tracking at the prompt, or change it later in iOS Settings (section 5).
- Reset the advertising identifier in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking / Apple Advertising.
- Delete individual entries in the App, or uninstall it to remove all local data (section 1).
- Write to us at the address below with any request about your data.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The current version is always at this address, and the date at the top shows when it last changed.
